He was elected the General Superintendent in 2022.  Before then, he was the District Superintendent of Owerri East district (2009 to 2022), also an Executive Committee member of the Assemblies of God Nigeria (EC) representing the South East Zone 2. He has handled so many tasking and challenging responsibilities entrusted to him either by the Board of Administration (BoA) or the Executive Committee (EC) of the Assemblies of God Nigeria. Such responsibilities include the Chairmanship of the National Project Committee (2014- 2020), National Men’s Board (2018-2021), Member, Assemblies of God Ministers Benefits Scheme (AGMBS) in addition to various Committees and Panels.

Rev. Amadi is a Missionary minded Minister. He has sponsored many mission activities that have given birth to planting, reviving and growing Assemblies of God Churches.

As a Lover and Promoter of Education, Rev. Abel Amadi is the founding father of Evangel Model Secondary School Owerri Imo State, a full Boarding School for Boys and Girls owned by the Assemblies of God Owerri East District and the initiator of the Scholarship program for the children of the indigent Pastors and Members of Assemblies of God.

Rev. Abel Ukachi Amadi, PhD. is married to Rev. Mrs. Best Chioma Amadi and they have four children and grandchildren.
